Hi, everyone. This module explores how engaging and motivating students in online
environments, can be very different to how you might do this
in face-to-face classrooms. Understanding the difference between how
these two environments work, is critical to being able to facilitate relevant and
meaningful learning using technology. This module is important for anyone who
wants to ensure that their students are getting the most out of
their online learning experience. Just because you may be using technology
to enhance your teaching, this doesn't mean that your presence and
guidance as a teacher is not important. In many ways, it's even more important
when you're teaching online. In other modules we've talked about designing activities, and assessment, and
using resources. These are important aspects of any type of
online teaching. But being able to effectively facilitate
and manage technologically inclusive learning, that's the element
that brings it all together. This requires a range of different unique
teaching skills, and we'll explore some of these in this
module. We'll also share guidance and tips on how
to bring all of the elements of your online learning design together, when you're putting it into
practice. I hope you find this module useful, and
that you'll consider sharing your own successful tips and strategies with everyone else in the discussion
forums.
