So the second criterion for giving peer
feedback and peer assessment to your peers in the second assignment, is focusing on
a description of how the online activity, assessment, or resource is aligned with
the rest of the curriculum in your class. And if you think back to module three and
module four, where we're talking about alignment, this is where this
particular criterion is important. So while, in the first one, they were talking more about what
the particular activity, assessment, or resource is, in this particular one,
you're looking for whether they've actually identified how it relates to the
rest of the curriculum in their course. So the first standard is not addressed. So again, if they don't address
the alignment, or how it relates to other components of their course at all,
you would select this particular standard. Now, if they've described
what constructive alignment, or curriculum alignment is,
which is the relationship between the learning outcomes, the activities,
the assessments in a course. But it didn't actually talk about how
it relates to their particular course in terms of the assessment task, or the
online activity, or the online assessment. They really just talked about
what curriculum alignment or constructive alignment is, then you
would chose the developing standard. Now if they described how their particular
chosen online activity, assessment, or resource relates and aligns with the
rest of the different components of their course, but
don't actually provide specifics of it. That's when you would choose
the Achieved Standard. So an example of that would be. Let's say, if we use the blog
activity again, as an example. They might say that,
they're planning to use a blog, and they're planning to use it
as an activity in the course. Not an assessment task, but an activity. And they might say that, well, my activity using the blog is aligned
to the rest of my curriculum. It's aligned to my learning outcome and it's also going to help my students
achieve the assessment task. But if they don't get in to any
examples of how it's aligned, or what is the learning outcome that's
related to the activity using the blog. Or what is the actual assessment task
that the activity with the blog supports? Then that is when you choose
the achieved standard. So while they might have said,
there is alignment and they might have said, that even there's
alignment between a learning outcome and an assessment task, they haven't
actually provide specific examples. Now if they have provided
specific examples, now that would be
the outstanding standard. So if you see examples where
they've actually said, the particular learning outcome
that this activity relates to, is I want students to develop
their reflective practice. And there's going to be an assessment
task, where they have to develop a presentation in relation to what
they've been reflecting along the way. Then the blog supports that
particular learning outcome, and that particular assessment task,
where they're showing their reflective ability through the assessment, and
the blog activity will support that. So they actually provide
a specific example, that would be the outstanding standard.
