[MUSIC] To link a noun with another
expression use the linking verb ser, to be, with of course the correct
person and number endings. Only nouns, articles and
adjectives agree in gender. Different from English, subject pronouns
in Spanish are really optional. But remember that everything has
to agree in person, number, and, if possible, gender. So let's look at the verb to be. First person, I, yo, soy. Plural, we, nosotros, somos. Second person, tu, eres. Plural, sois. Third person es. Third person plural, son. Now, remember, the usted form is going
to go with the third person of the verb, so it's usted es un hombre,
ustedes son hombres. Let's look at some examples. Soy un hombre sincero. Eres una mujer única y especial. La hija es muy inteligente. Somos las hijas de la familia Nuñez. Vosotras sois pequeñas. Los hombres son trabajadores. Get used to this verb
ser in all of its forms, it's clearly irregular in its forms, and practice it a lot because
it's used everywhere.
