Let's practicing saying the consonant sounds of American English.

You'll also see a Phonemic Symbol for each sound.
These symbols are sometimes called IPA, which stands for International Phonetic Alphabet.
We'll use Phonemic Symbols because they give us a clear way to represent sounds.
I'm sure you've noticed that in English spelling, letters don't always represent the same sound.
For example, the letter C might spell the sounds [SOUND] or sometimes even [SOUND].
The phonemic symbols are written with slash marks around them.
Now let's practice the consonant sounds.
