گزارش خرابی

It's been about three months
since our last one on one and I thought maybe we could sit down and I
could share some observations with you to help you be more effective in your role. >> Okay. >> At our last staff meeting,
I heard you challenge Jake on his need for a financial report. Did you think it was
non-reasonable request? >> Not unreasonable necessarily, although I did think at the time that he
probably already had the information. >> He may or may not have had it but
you are the team's resource. In my observation when challenged
on a reasonable request like that the team tends to avoid
your input when possible. >> I hope no one's avoiding me. >> Well,
let's talk through this example with Jake. Do you think there's another
way you could've handled it? How about if we role play through some
possible situations that would've felt more positive for everybody involved? >> Okay. >> In the last couple of meetings
I've made some observations and I'd like to share them with you. >> Sounds good. >> In the last staff meeting, you brought
up an important marketing strategy that was working well with one demographic and
not another. Do you remember? >> Yeah.
It's a strategy that was originally created by-
>> Jake! I'm familiar with the history. >> Yeah.
I guess you are. >> Now I noticed that it took you about
five minutes to make your explanation and by the end the team had started
checking their emails and Catherine challenged your need for
a financial report. Do you think the lack of interest and
irritability towards your contribution is related to your lengthy
conversation style? >> I know I talk a lot. >> Well, you have important things to say,
and I've just noticed that sometimes you don't make your point until the end of
a long explanation or a lengthy history. Do you know what I mean? >> Yeah, I guess I see your point. I just want to be sure that everyone
has all the information that I have. >> In my opinion we have a smart team
that can understand things quickly. Maybe you can find a way to
make a more concise point and then everyone will be more appreciative. Then you'll be a more
effective communicator. >> [LAUGH] Important take a way. But how do I know that they
have all the information? >> Well I think that you could make
your most important point first, and let the questions follow from there, then you'll be more effective
in your communication. >> That's a good point. I need to be concise and to the point. Thanks Elizabeth. >> It's my pleasure.
